Bolt Prospects Prospect of the Week: 12/4-12/10

Two firsts with this week's selection...

D Dane Crowley, Swift Current (WHL)

In winning the award this week, Crowley becomes both the first junior player to win Prospect of the Week honors and the first defenseman. The Broncos blueliner shined last week scoring 2 goals and 4 points in 3 games with a +1 rating and 12 penalty minutes. Crowley had 1 goal and 1 assist, all on the power play, and was named third star of the game as Swift Current pummelled Prince Albert 5-2 on Wednesday, 12/6. After the Broncos had a 5-2 setback against Moose Jaw on Friday, Crowley rose to the occassion Saturday against Brandon assisting on the game tying power play goal with 7 second left in regulation to force overtime and then scored the game winning goal in overtime to secure a 2-1 victory. Crowley was named third star of the game in that matchup as well. Through 26 games this season Crowley has 3 goals and 12 points and is even with 79 penalty minutes. The 2006 6th round draft pick may prove to be another late round Lightning find as he continues to display a well rounded game for Swift Current as their assistant captain, a fixture on their power play and as a rugged defender at even strength.

Crowley's Statistics 12/4-12/10:
3 GP, 2-2-4, 12 PIM, +1
