Bolt Prospects Prospect of the Week: 1/1-1/7

January's opening week was not kind to the Lightning's minor pro prospects. So, for the first time, we have a multiple winner from the junior ranks...

RW/C Chris Lawrence, Mississauga (OHL)

1.4. That's the number of points per game 2005 3rd round pick Chris Lawrence has put up this season. Lawrence continued his torrid pace for 2006-2007 on Friday, 1/5, posting a pair of goals at home against Erie to tie his career high of 23 goals in a season in just the first week of January. Mississauga dominated the game winning 9-2 and Lawrence was named the 2nd star of the game. Saturday night Lawrence went a step further setting a new career high with 24 goals in a 1 goal and 2 assist effort in a 4-2 win against Oshawa. With 49 points now in 35 games, Lawrence is fast approaching his career best in points which was 53 in 67 games last season, a mark which appears destined to be thoroughly shattered by season's end. Lawrence's signing deadline is approaching this summer, and the young power forward definitely looks like a player destined to earn his first professional contract.

Lawrence's Statistics 1/1-1/7:
2 GP, 3-2-5, 2 PIM, +2
