Bolt Prospects Prospect of the Week: 2/5-2/11

This was a difficult decision with Maine senior Mike Lundin having such a great week (2 GP, 2-1-3). However, this week's winner proved that perserverance pays off...

LW/C Adam Henrich, Springfield (AHL)/Johnstown (ECHL)

It's been a difficult two and a half years since Adam Henrich entered the Lightning organization. After struggling as a rookie with his conditioning and nagging injuries at the AHL level Henrich has split the last two seasons between Johnstown of the ECHL and Springfield of the AHL. As a consequence, Henrich's star has waned within the Lightning organization as other prospects have passed him on the depth chart. Still, this season, there's no denying that Henrich has improved this year and this week may have, even despite his demotion to Johnstown at mid week, been the young forward's coming out party. On Wednesday, 2/7 Henrich scored the Falcons' only goal in a 2-1 loss at Lowell. Henrich was subsequently sent down to Johnstown where he proceeded to score a goal in the Chiefs' 5-2 shellacking of visiting Wheeling on Saturday, 2/10. Henrich was named third star of that game. The next night, Henrich had a scintilating first star performance where he scored 2 goals and 2 assists to help Johnstown beat Reading 5-2. After seeing his offensive output decline during the month of January, Henrich is now back near a point a game at the ECHL level with 11 goals and 27 points in 28 games this season as the now resurgent Chiefs look poised for a playoff run.

Henrich's Statistics 2/5-2/11
With Springfield (AHL): 1 GP, 1-0-1, 0 PIM, +1
With Johnstown (ECHL): 2 GP, 3-2-5, 2 PIM, +5

good news

That's really good news .. but .. too little too late?

Maybe more

A guy with his skill level should easily be a PPGer at the ECHL level. He had a great week, I'm not taking that away from him, but 2nd round picks that are third year pros shouldn't even be in the ECHL.

Still, kudos to him for not pouting after the demotion and trying to bull his way back to SF.

If he has a remarkable finish to the year, perhaps they make TB think of a one year deal. But I believe that to be an uphill battle to say the least.

Maybe if he was healthy..

Imagine what Lundin would have done if he was healthy....The guy missed practice all week and lost around 10-15 pounds due to the flu...
