Bolt Prospects Prospect of the Week: 2/12-2/18

LW/C Adam Henrich, Johnstown (ECHL)

It's an interesting contrast to think that just three or four weeks ago rumors were swirling that the Lightning were looking to jettison former 2nd round pick Adam Henrich in similar fashion to Andre Deveaux. Since returning from Springfield of the AHL in what was considered by some to be a showcase callup for such a trade, Henrich has been absolutely unstoppable offensively and may be playing his best hockey since signing with the Lightning in the summer of 2004. In six games since being sent down Henrich has 7 goals and 12 points with 10 penalty minutes and a +7 rating. This week, after being held scoreless in a shutout loss to Trenton on Wednesday the 14th, Henrich rebounded with 2 goals and 1 assist on the road in a 5-4 overtime loss to Cincinnati. Henrich was named third star of the game for his effort. The following night at home against the Cyclones, Henrich had 2 helpers in a 7-4 loss. Henrich closed out his weekend with a 2 goal, first star performance as Johnstown defeated Trenton 3-2 at home. Henrich is now third on the Chiefs in scoring with 15 goals and 34 points in 32 games, just 1 point back of rookie phenom Maxime Boisclair and 2 points behind veteran sniper Randy Rowe. His team leading +15 rating is a full 11 points better than the next closest Chief and his 119 penalty minutes is also the most on the team. All if this begs some very interesting questions: will Henrich get another chance to prove himself at the AHL level this season? Can he earn another year in the Lightning organization? Has he turned the corner toward finally fulfilling the promise he displayed as a young power forward with Brampton in junior? With roughly two months to go in the season, a lot of questions remain to be answered.
