Val-d’Or scored seven times against the Eagles for the second straight game, and for the second straight game Lightning prospect Artem Sergeev (pictured) had two points in a win. Sergeev scored twice on Wednesday night to give him three goals on the year. He had 12 shots on goal during the last two games.

Bruins first rounder Malcolm Subban stopped 31 shots and 1 of 3 shootout attempts and his brother, Jordan Subban, scored the shootout winner as the Bulls beat the Battalion, 2-1.

Jordan Binnington (Rangers) stopped 33 of 35 shots, backstopping the Attack over the Whalers on Wednesday. Lightning prospect Jake Dotchin is scoreless in his last seven games.

Blujus had his modest 2-game point streak snapped in a brutal overtime loss to Mississauga on Canadian Thanksgiving. Brampton allowed Mississauga to tie the game with a shorthanded goal in the final minute. Brett Foy (undrafted) had two goals for the newly named Steelheads, including the winner in the extra session. Blujus was on the ice for the overtime winner.

Season totals: 7 GP, 4-4-8, +8, 10 PIM
Paquette had a goal and an assist for the second straight game, and was second star for the second straight game as the Armada beat the Rocket, 6-2. Christopher Clapperton had a hat trick for Blainville-Boisbriand. He went undrafted in 2012, but camped with the Flyers, scoring a hat trick in their prospect scrimmage. Paquette is up over a point-per-game pace for the season. He has four multi-point games this year.
Note: Nikita Kucherov (Quebec) remains out with a shoulder injury.

Blujus had an assist for the second straight game, but Brampton was stonewalled by Blue Jackets second rounder (2012) Oscar Dansk, who stopped 34 of 35 shots. Dansk is 2-3 on the year with a 4.51 GAA and .891 save percentage.
Owen Sound Attack 4 @ Sarnia Sting 3

Season totals: 6 GP, 0-2-2, E, 6 PIM
Owen Sound avenged a 2-1 loss to the Sting in their last game. Habs first rounder (2012) Alex Galchenyuk had a goal and an assist for Sarnia. Dotchin hasn’t registered a point since accumulating two assists in the season opener.
Plymouth Whalers 4 @ Guelph Storm 5
C/W Tanner Richard, GUE: 0-1-1, E, 2 PIM (roughing)
Season totals: 6 GP, 1-7-8, +3, 10 PIM
Guelph is now 2 for 2 in their key 3-games-in-3-nights stretch this weekend. They defeated Windsor 5-0 on Thursday. Richard had three assists Thursday night and added a helper Friday. Justin Auger (undrafted) had a hatter for the Storm, including the game-winning goal with five seconds left in the game. Guelph overcame a 3-1 deficit to win.
News: Unhappy with his team’s 3-game losing streak in which they’ve been outscored 14-3, Peterborough captain and Lightning first rounder Slater Koekkoek (pictured) boldly told the Peterborough Examiner that something may have to change with team personnel.
“I'm not going to do the GM's job by any means but if there are certain players in here not willing to compete then something has to happen,” he said. “We're not good enough.”

Blujus snapped a three-game scoreless streak with his second assist of the young season, helping Brampton to a 4-1 home win over Kingston. Battalion captain Barclay Goodrow (undrafted) had two goals to win first star. Goodrow’s second goal of the game was set up on the power play by Blujus. The loss by Kingston was their first of the season after three wins.
Guelph Storm 5 @ Windsor Spitfires 0

Season totals: 5 GP, 1-6-7, +3, 8 PIM
Richard (pictured) had a season-high three assists and was named third star as Guelph won their first game of three this weekend, 5-0 in Windsor. Richard’s career high for points in a game is four, set twice last year – both against Sault Ste Marie. One of those games was a four-assist game.
Sudbury Wolves 4 @Peterborough Petes 1

The Petes have been outscored 14-3 in their last three games, all losses. On Thursday, Sudbury’s Joshua Leivo (Leafs) had two goals to lead his Wolves to a 4-1 win in Peterborough. The Petes are tied with Mississauga for the fewest average goals scored per game. Both teams have nine goals in five games.

The Foreurs held a 2-1 lead entering the third period, but Sergeev and company couldn’t upset the CHL’s No.1 ranked team, Quebec. The Remparts, who remain without Lightning prospect Nikita Kucherov who is rehabbing a shoulder injury, got three assists from Kucherov’s good friend, Mikhail Grigorenko. The Lightning passed on Grigorenko at the June draft. The Sabres took him two picks after the Lightning’s selection of of a much-needed defensive prospect, Slater Koekkoek, at 10th overall. Grigorenko has 11 points in four games so far this year.

Blujus’ scoreless streak reached three games as the Battalion fell in Oshawa, 7-4. Boone Jenner (Blue Jackets), Lucas Lessio (Coyotes), and Tyler Biggs (Leafs) all had two goals a piece for the Gens. Biggs was a teammate of Lightning prospect Jimmy Mullin last year at Miami (Ohio) University.

Tanner Richard (pictured) scored his first goal of the year and added an assist to help Guelph avenge an 8-2 loss to London a week ago with a 4-1 win Sunday. Richard’s plus-4 rating was a career high. He had a plus-3 game last November against Oshawa.

Season totals: 4 GP, 2-2-4, +2, 6 PIM
Paquette registered both his points in the first period, helping the Armada to a 3-0 lead by the first intermission. The team cruised to a 6-0 win. Paquette led the Armada in shots and hits in the game.

Tanner Richard set up Guelph’s second first period goal to give the Storm a 2-1 lead, but the home side allowed two goals in less than a minute in the third period and lost, 3-2. Richard was on the ice for the game-winning goal against. Jake Dotchin was scoreless for Owen Sound.

The Petes got crushed on the road, 5-1 by the Gens. Former Lightning prospect Geoffrey Schemitsch had a goal and an assist for Oshawa. It was his first goal of the year; he had two last season. Flyers first rounder (2012) Scott Laughton was first star with a goal and a helper. Koekkoek had his second assist of the season in the loss.

Brampton Battalion 1 @ Sudbury Wolves 4

Season totals: 2 GP, 0-1-1, -1, 0 PIM
This was a 2-0 game until two minutes left in the third period when Sudbury scored into an empty net while shorthanded. That gave Blujus his minus-1 for the night. The Battalion ended up scoring about 20 seconds later on the power play, then gave up another empty netter. Nathan Pancel, who finished fourth in OHL rookie scoring last year but went undrafted in June, had two goals for Sudbury.
London Knights 8 @ Guelph Storm 2
C/W Tanner Richard, GUE: 0-0-0, -1, 4 PIM (hooking, roughing)
Season totals: 2 GP, 0-1-1, -1, 4 PIM
The London machine came into Guelph and put up an early autumn snowman. Former Lightning camper and 2012 Boston draft pick Seth Griffith (pictured) had two goals to give him five in the first two games of the season. Lightning prospect Tanner Richard roughed it up with Griffith in the second period and both were sent to the box for two minutes. Leafs pick Ryan Rupert had four helpers for the Knights.
Lightning junior prospects are off until Thursday.

Blainville-Boisbriand Armada 5 @ Rouyn-Noranda Huskies 3
C Cedric Paquette, BLB: 1-1-2, +2, 0 PIM, 5 SOG, 2 Hits
A 31-goal scorer last year, Paquette had a goal and an assist in the third period to help the Armada to a 5-3 road win. The Armada was down 2-1 entering the third period. Paquette’s goal turned out to be the game winner. An alternate captain for the team, Paquette was 17 of 28 on faceoffs and centered the Armada’s top line.
Victoriaville Tigres 3 @ Val-d’Or Foreurs 4 (SO)
D Artem Sergeev, VDO: 1-1-2, E, 0 PIM, 2 SOG, 2 Hits
Sergeev’s first goal of the year came on the power play and gave Val-d’Or a brief 3-1 lead. He did not participate in the shootout, won by the Foreurs 1-0. Look for a breakout year from Sergeev (pictured) this season.

Blujus earned his first point of the season when he had an assist on Brampton’s only goal, scored on a 5-on-3 power play. He had spent the first half of the double man advantage as the triggerman for the Battalion. Blujus did not participate in the shootout. Listening to the radio broadcast, Blujus seemed to never leave the ice.
Saginaw Spirit 3 @ Guelph Storm 4 (OT)
C/W Tanner Richard, GUE: 0-1-1, E, 0 PIM
Richard had an assist on Andrey Pedan’s (Islanders) power play goal in overtime as Guelph came back from a 3-1 deficit to win their season opener. Leafs second rounder and Guelph captain Matt Finn had three assists for the Storm.
