Kucherov sat out the game as Nick Sorensen was back in the lineup for Quebec. The Remparts can only dress two import players per game and right now the club has three possible starters from overseas: Sorensen, Kucherov, and Sabres first rounder Mikhail Grigorenko, who had a goal and an assist on Friday against the Cataractes. Adam Erne (2013) had four goals and an assist to pace the Remparts.

In a game broadcast on NHL Network, Paquette took four minor penalties and the Armada lost to Moncton, 3-2. The game winning goal was scored in the final minute of regulation with Paquette in the penalty box for roughing. Paquette was 10/27 on faceoffs in the game.

Sergeev was back on the scoresheet with an assist and was second on the team with five shots on goal, but the Foreurs fell in a shootout to the Oceanic, 4-3 (2-1).

Blujus (pictured) scored his first goal of the year, but the Battalion lost in Mississauga, 5-1. Blujus’ goal came on the power play and made the game 4-1 late in the second period.

Owen Sound Attack 2 @ Kitchener Rangers 3 (SO)

Season totals: 12 GP, 1-2-3, -1, 12 PIM

Matt Puempel (Senators) scored twice for the Rangers, who won in a shootout, 3-2. Kitchener won the skills competition, 1-0. Kitchener goaltender John Gibson (Ducks) stopped 42 of 44 shots in regulation and overtime, then 5 of 5 in the shootout.

Windsor Spitfires 6 @ Guelph Storm 4

Richard extended his point streak to nine games, which is tied for the second-longest current streak in the league (Connor McDavid, 13). Richard has two goals and 14 assists in those nine games.

The Armada spotted the Sags the first goal, then scored twice late in the third period to steal a road win. Paquette only took eight faceoffs in the game, winning six. He led the team in hits with three.

Daniel Altshuller (Hurricanes) stopped 26 of 27 shots and Flyers first rounder Scott Laughton scored the game winner to lead Oshawa to a win in Owen Sound.

Guelph Storm 8 @ Saginaw Spirit 5

Richard (pictured) returned from a 2-game suspension for instigating a fight in the last five minutes of a game. He scored his second goal of the year and added an assist. His goal gave Guelph a 3-1 lead early in the second period. The Storm went on to put a snowman up on the scoreboard in Michigan.

Paquette scored his sixth goal of the season, but the Armada fell to the Drakkar, 5-4 in a shootout. Paquette was not one of the five shooters selected to participate in the shootout.

One day after Artem Sergeev had his point streak snapped at four games, he earned two assists in a big Foreurs win over Gatineau. The only minus was just that – a minus-3 rating in a 4-goals-against game.

Note: Nikita Kucherov (Quebec) remains out with a shoulder injury, but was cleared by Lightning doctors on Thursday. He is expected back within the next week.

Artem Sergeev extended his point streak to four games with an assist, and Val-d’Or put seven pucks in the net for the third time in their last four games, beating the defending league champion Sea Dogs, 7-1. Sergeev is plus-9 in his last four games. Anthony Mantha had a hat trick for the Foreurs.

Koekkoek (pictured, Eric DuBose photo) has four points (2-2) in his last three games. Meanwhile, Jake Dotchin hasn’t registered a point since opening night – a span of eight games.

Val-d’Or scored seven times against the Eagles for the second straight game, and for the second straight game Lightning prospect Artem Sergeev (pictured) had two points in a win. Sergeev scored twice on Wednesday night to give him three goals on the year. He had 12 shots on goal during the last two games.
