Unexpected stat of the night: This was Hutchings’ first assist since January 2nd and second since December 18. He had 34 assists last season. Hutchings is a frequent visitor to the scoresheet, so the low assist (lately) total is a bit of a surprise. This was a big road win for the Majors, who sit in second, (well) behind Barrie in the Eastern Conference. Those two are in a class by themselves in the conference.

He is tied for third in the league in goals with likely 2010 Top-2 pick Tyler Seguin of Plymouth.

He’s 11 points off his career high for points, also set in those 63 games. Hutchings scored on fellow Lightning prospect Michael Zador, who played well against the conference’s best team. Zador, who has been streaky all year, is currently mired in a five-game losing skid.
