Florida lost their fifth game in a row, this time at home to Greenville after they had a 3-0 lead to start the third period. Greenville peppered Lightning prospect goalie Pat Nagle with 16 shots in the final period. Nagle stopped a total of 38 shots in regulation and overtime, but gave up two goals on four attempts in the skills competition. Recently re-assigned Norfolk defensemen Charles Landry and Kevin Quick – both of whom saw time at forward for a depleted Admirals squad – played for the Everblades on Thursday. Quick (pictured) had an assist on the game’s opening goal. Of note: Lightning prospect forward Alex Hutchings, out since mid-November with an upper-body injury, has resumed skating with the team.

After starting 10 straight games for Florida Nagle got his second night off in as many days. Carolina prospect John Muse got the win in net for the Everblades, who won a 15-round shootout for the victory. Charles Landry (pictured with the now defunct Montreal Juniors) played his sixth game for the ‘Blades; he was reassigned by the Norfolk Admirals earlier in the day. Kevin Quick went scoreless in his second ECHL game since the 2009 playoffs. He failed to convert his shootout attempt. Landry did not get into the shootout. Florida is ties for first in the South Division with Gwinnett.

Labrie Signing Highlights 3 Moves For Norfolk

In a trio of moves, the Lightning have announced they have signed Pierre-Cedric Labrie to a 2 year 2-way NHL contract. The power forward has been playing for Norfolk under an AHL contract and should add more muscle and toughness to the organization. Additionally, the Lightning have announced the recall of defenseman Evan Oberg from Norfolk in the wake of Victor Hedman's upper body injury, and that they have reassigned defenseman Charles Landry from Florida of the ECHL to Norfolk in Oberg's place.

Philip-Michael Devos had another three point game, Charles Landry had his third assist in his sixth ECHL game, and the Florida Everblades topped the Trenton Titans 6-3. But… the real story is old time hockey – aka a line brawl – happened a year to the day that the ‘Blades were involved in their last Christmas massacre. It’s safe to say that their horrific Christmas jerseys are just a cover for a team that has anything but the Christmas spirit – unless the Christmas spirit involves punching, face washing and Lightning prospect Pat Nagle skating the length of the ice to get in on the action. Let’s hope Santa wasn’t watching. I know this – next year on the last game before Christmas I’m buying a ticket for the Evergrinches game. Nagle was kicked out for leaving his crease to fight (see video below). Maybe he can make the Lightning as an enforcer. Alex Hutchings remains out with an upper-body injury. He hasn’t played since November 12.

Philip-Michael Devos (pictured), recently returned to the ‘Blades from AHL Norfolk, had a goal and two assists, including getting a helper on Scott Pitt’s bad angle game-winner with 14 seconds left in overtime as Florida beat Trenton. Devos scored his fifth of the year with under two minutes remaining to send the game to overtime. Alex Hutchings remains out with an upper-body injury. He hasn’t played since November 12.
