Milan’s scoreless streak hit 10 games in a loss to the Sags. The Wildcats seem lost without captain Brandon Gormley, who is with Team Canada for the World Junior Championships.

Namestnikov earned an assist on Lightning camper Seth Griffith’s 24th goal of the season that tied the game at 1. Tie Domi’s son Max won the game for the Knights in overtime – his 12th goal of the year. With 44 points in 31 games Griffith (pictured) is seventh in the league in scoring. He had 62 points (22 goals) in 68 games last year before joining the Lightning for prospect and rookie camp as a free agent invitee. It is still possible he could be signed by the Lightning after the new year. Someone is going to get him.

Milan has not registered a point in eight games. He is minus-5 during that time. Milan is fourth in points for the year among Wildcat defensemen. While Lightning management said they signed Milan for his defensive abilities and offense is a bonus, one suspects they weren't expecting him to slump this bad after a 38-point rookie season.

Schemitsch (pictured) hasn’t played since November 12 because of an upper body injury. He is still being listed as day-to-day. Mark Scheifele, who started the season with the Winnipeg Jets, had two goals in the game for Barrie. He has 11 goals and 32 points in 18 games this season for the Colts.

The defending Memorial Cup champs got an overtime goal from defenseman Charles-Olivier Roussel (Predators 2009 2nd round), assisted by 2011 picks Zack Phillips (Wild, 1st round) and Tomas Jurco (Red Wings, 2nd round) to defeat the Wilcats 2-1. Lightning prospect Daniel Milan extended his scoreless streak to five games in the loss. Phillips was thought to be a potential draft candidate for the Lightning last summer. The Wild took him with the pick immediately after the Bolts took Vladislav Namestnikov. Phillips leads St. John in scoring with 16 goals and 48 points in 27 games.
