Florida got down 3-0 quickly and could never recover, losing to Gwinnett 6-2 Saturday and falling three points behind the Glads in the division in the process. Nagle has started Florida’s last nine games. He is 6-2-0-1 over that span. Alex Hutchings remains out with an upper-body injury. He hasn’t played since November 12.

Florida fought back from a two goal deficit late in the third to force overtime and eventually the shootout. Nagle stopped two of four shooters in the skills competition. Florida went 0 for 4. The Everblades missed a chance to take over first place in the South Division, instead allowing Gwinnet to push their lead to two points over second-place Florida. Alex Hutchings remains out with an upper-body injury. He hasn’t played since November 12.

Florida won their sixth straight game to pull within one point of division-leading Gwinnett with a big 6-3 road win New Year’s Eve in South Carolina. Florida scored the game’s first four goals, then held on for the win. Lightning prospect Pat Nagle has been in net for every game of the Everblades’ six-game win streak. Saturday was his third game in three nights, and he won them all. Alex Hutchings remains out with an upper-body injury. He hasn’t played since November 12.

Pat Nagle won his fourth game in a row, stopping 30 of 31 shots Thursday in Greenville for a big Florida win. The Everblades are now tied with Greenville for second in the South Division, five points behind Gwinnett. Statistically, the solid effort Thursday dropped Nagle’s goals against average below 3 and his raised his save percentage over 90%. Reports said Nagle worked with Lightning goaltender coach Franz Jean a couple weeks ago, which helped Nagle's game. Jean meets with Nagle once a month. This was the first game since The ‘Blades (and Nagle) were involved in a line brawl. Florida played without Philip-Michael Devos and Charles Landry, who were recalled recently by AHL Norfolk. Alex Hutchings remains out with an upper-body injury. He hasn’t played since November 12.

Philip-Michael Devos had another three point game, Charles Landry had his third assist in his sixth ECHL game, and the Florida Everblades topped the Trenton Titans 6-3. But… the real story is old time hockey – aka a line brawl – happened a year to the day that the ‘Blades were involved in their last Christmas massacre. It’s safe to say that their horrific Christmas jerseys are just a cover for a team that has anything but the Christmas spirit – unless the Christmas spirit involves punching, face washing and Lightning prospect Pat Nagle skating the length of the ice to get in on the action. Let’s hope Santa wasn’t watching. I know this – next year on the last game before Christmas I’m buying a ticket for the Evergrinches game. Nagle was kicked out for leaving his crease to fight (see video below). Maybe he can make the Lightning as an enforcer. Alex Hutchings remains out with an upper-body injury. He hasn’t played since November 12.

Philip-Michael Devos (pictured), recently returned to the ‘Blades from AHL Norfolk, had a goal and two assists, including getting a helper on Scott Pitt’s bad angle game-winner with 14 seconds left in overtime as Florida beat Trenton. Devos scored his fifth of the year with under two minutes remaining to send the game to overtime. Alex Hutchings remains out with an upper-body injury. He hasn’t played since November 12.

After sitting last night Pat Nagle was strong in net Friday for Florida, giving up two goals on the road before the Gladiators scored into an empty net. Nagle’s teammates were stymied by former Montreal fourth rounder Jason Missiaen in goal for Gwinnett. Nagle’s save percentage continue to creep up to the .900 mark. Alex Hutchings remains out with an upper-body injury. He hasn’t played since November 12.
