Des Moines Buccaneers 5 @ Tri-City Storm 3

G Adam Wilcox, TC: Loss, 28 saves on 32 shots

Season Totals (with Green Bay): 9 GP, 7-2-0, 2.27 GAA, .918 sv%, 2 SO

After winning his first game as a member of the Storm, Wilcox has dropped his last four, though he has managed to maintain a respectable save percentage through the slump.

QMJHL

Cape Breton Screaming Eagles 2 @ Gatineau Olympiques 5

D Adam Janosik, GAT: 0-1-1, E, 2 PIM (hooking), 3 SOG, 1 Hit
Season Totals: 27 GP, 2-16-18, +1, 27 PIM

Gatineau broke a four game losing streak and Janosik snapped a five game scoreless streak as the Olympiques avenged an overtime loss to the Eagles earlier in the week with a 5-2 home win Friday. Emile Poirier (2013 draft) had a hat trick for Gatineau, which doubled the rookie’s goal output for the year. Janosik, as expected, was named to Team Slovakia’s preliminary roster for the upcoming U20 World Junior Championships. He had five assists in six games for Slovakia at last year’s WJCs.

OHL

Peterborough Petes 4 @ London Knights 7
C Vladislav Namestnikov, LDN: 0-4-4, -1, 0 PIM
Season Totals: 30 GP, 16-21-37, +9, 28 PIM

Namestnikov (pictured) tied a career high with four points and his linemate (and Lightning camper) Seth Griffith had a hat trick and an assist to lead London to a 7-4 home win over the Petes. Namestnikov’s four points were a season high for him, but he had a four point game (3+1) last February against Barrie. His four assists in the game were a career high.

North American Juniors Game Night: 12-6-11

OHL

London Knights 2 @ Kitchener Rangers 4
C Vladislav Namestnikov, LDN: 0-0-0, -2, 0 PIM
Season Totals: 27 GP, 16-18-34, +13, 28 PIM

Namestnikov was a game-time decision because of the flu, but gave the okay-to-go after warm-ups. Unfortunately for him and the Knights, they fell to Kitchener for the second time this season. The game was played in Kitchener at "The Aud" (pictured). Namestnikov, who was left off the Russian preliminary U20 World Junior Championship roster earlier in the day (he’s expected to join the team when they get to Canada), was scoreless for the second game in a row. Lightning camper Seth Griffith scored his 20th of the season in the game. London is just four points up on Kitchener for first in the OHL’s Midwest Division.

D Daniel Milan, MON: 0-0-0, -3, 0 PIM, 1 SOG, 1 Hit

Not a good start to a lengthy road trip for Moncton.

QMJHL Note: Teenage phenom Nathan MacKinnon (pictured), 16, had five goals for Halifax in a win over Quebec Saturday night. The Halifax native has 19 goals and 49 points in 29 games so far this season. Expect him to go first overall in the 2013 NHL draft.

Season Totals: 20 GP, 0-7-7, -1, 16 PIM

Namestnikov’s four game point streak was snapped in a road win over Geoffrey Schemitsch-less Owen Sound. Namestnikov’s teammate, Andreas Athanasiou (2012 draft eligible), had four goals in the game. Schemitsch hasn’t played since November 12 because of an upper body injury.

After a strong debut for Tri-City, Wilcox has lost his last two games. The Storm and Force were deadlocked at 3 entering the third period and Wilcox’s Storm had a 4-3 lead at 7:25. Fargo then exploded for three goals and the rest was history. Wilcox’s goals against average rose by over a goal after the loss.

QMJHL

D Adam Janosik, GAT: 0-0-0, E, 2 PIM (holding), 1 SOG, 0 Hits
Season Totals: 25 GP, 2-15-17, +3, 23 PIM

Janosik was back in the lineup after missing Thursday’s game against Moncton. Unfortunately for the Olympiques, it didn’t mean a win. Gatineau has lost three straight games. Gabriel Desjardins (undrafted) had a hat trick for Halifax.

OHL

Saginaw Spirit 0 @ London Knights 6
C Vladislav Namestnikov, LDN: 0-2-2, +2, 0 PIM
Season Totals: 27 GP, 16-18-34, +13, 28 PIM

Namestnikov (pictured) had his ninth multi-point game in his last 16 contests. Lightning camper Seth Griffith had two goals and an assist in the game. He’s up to 11th in league scoring. Namestnikov is 15th.

D Daniel Milan, MON: 0-0-0, E, 2 PIM (holding), 0 SOG, 0 Hits
Season Totals: 22 GP, 0-4-4, -3, 23 PIM

Moncton was able to overcome Milan’s holding penalty in overtime to force a shootout and gain an extra point from the Mooseheads. Milan’s dismal season continues statistically with four assists in 22 games. He had 14 goals and 24 assists as a QMJHL rookie last year.

OHL

London Knights 2 @ Brampton Battalion 1
C Vladislav Namestnikov, LDN: 0-0-0, E, 0 PIM
Season Totals: 26 GP, 16-16-32, +11, 28 PIM

The high-powered Knights only managed 15 shots on goal, but goaltender Michael Houser (undrafted) stopped 34 shots to lead London to a 2-1 road win. Namestnikov’s four-game point streak came to an end. Lightning camper Seth Griffith scored what turned out to be the game-winning goal early in the third period while on a penalty kill. He has 17 goals this year.
