Danick Gauthier scored the game’s opening goal and Saint John made an eventual 3-0 lead stand up to defeat Rimouski 3-2 and take Game 2 of the President Cup Final series. Gauthier, who scored his 10th goal of the postseason, extended his point streak to 7 games. He has at least a point in 12 of his last 13 playoff games and in 13 of 15 overall. He is tied for seventh in the league in goals scored during the playoffs. The Sea Dogs, who outshot the visitors 32-16, are now up two games to none on the Oceanic. Game 3 is Wednesday in Rimouski.

London earned a huge win on Saturday to take back home ice advantage in the OHL Finals. The Knights had lost to the IceDogs in double overtime at home on Thursday. Lightning 2011 first rounder Vladislav Namestnikov had an assist in Game 2 to give him points in three straight games and eight of his last nine games. London overcame a 2-0 deficit with four unanswered goals in Game 2. London was outshot 42-24 in the game. Andrew Agozzino (undrafted), a 40-goal scorer in the regular season for the second-straight year, had a hat trick for Niagara. He has 11 goals in the postseason. Game 3 is back in London on Monday night.

Coyotes prospect and 2010-11 OHL Goaltender of the Year Mark Visentin made 41 saves and Bruins’ 2011 first rounder Dougie Hamilton (pictured) scored in double overtime as Niagara took Game 1 of the OHL Finals, 3-2 on Thursday night. Lightning prospect Vlad Namestnikov had an assist on Lightning camper Seth Griffith’s third period goal, which tied the game at two three minutes in to the final period of regulation. This year’s OHL Goaltender of the Year, Michael Houser (undrafted), made 51 saves for London. Niagara had all six shots in the second overtime. Game 2 is Saturday in St. Catherines.

Vladislav Namestnikov had two assists and former Lightning camper Seth Griffith scored the Knights’ final two goals to lead London to a 4-2 Game 4 win and a sweep of the Kitchener Rangers. London will now await the winner of Niagara and Ottawa to find out their opponent for the OHL Finals. Niagara is currently up 3-1 in games. London defenseman Olli Maata had a goal and two helpers tonight and he could be seeing his stock rising in the upcoming draft. Maatta is expected to go in the 10-20 range. At least one mock draft had him at eight. Maatta has five goals and 19 points in 14 games for London in the post-season. He had 32 points in 58 regular season games.

Shocker! Etienne Brodeur (undrafted) scroed at 7:26 of overtime for the Sags, handing Saint John their first loss of the playoffs. Lightning prospect Danick Gauthier scored his ninth goal of the playoffs in the game, a go-ahead score with just over three minutes to play. Chicoutimi tied the game under a minute later to force overtime. Game 4 is Thursday in Chicoutimi. Saint John leads the series, 2-1.

Likely 2012 first round defenseman Olli Maata had two goals for London, leading the Knights to a 5-2 home win and a commanding 3-0 series lead over division-rival Kitchener. Maata could be a target of the Lightning this summer. Lightning prospect Vladislav Namestnikov had his five game point streak come to an end. London chased Ducks second rounder John Gibson from the Kitchener nets by scoring four goals in just over a period of play. London can close out the series at The Aud in Kitchener on Wednesday.

Panthers prospect Jonathan Huberdeau had a goal and an assist to lead Saint John to their 10th straight playoff win, 5-2 over Chicoutimi. Gauthier tied for the team lead in shots. He has at least one point in seven of his last eight games and eight of 10 overall. Game 3 is Tuesday in Quebec. In the other QMJHL semifinal, Rimouski leads Halifax, 2-0.

London scored four times in the third period to turn a 4-2 deficit into a 6-4 win. The Knights’ final goal was scored into an empty net. Namestnikov teamed with former Lightning camper Seth Griffith to score the game-tying goal while shorthanded. The assist extended Namestnikov's point streak to five games. Griffith was named the game’s first star. The teams will drive an hour west to London for Game 3 on Tuesday. In the series opposite this one, Ottawa and potential Lightning draft pick Cody Ceci won Game 2 to tie their sereis with Niagara, 1-1.
