No Nesterov for Americans

Confirming what we reported last week, 2011 fifth round pick Nikita Nesterov is not on the Tri-City Americans training camp roster.

Nesterov, a puck-moving defenseman with a mean streak drafted out of Russia, was selected in the CHL Import Draft by Tri-City following the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. Paperwork could not be formalized last summer, so Nesterov stayed him. It was expected he would be taking his talents to Kennewick, Washington, this year instead of remaining in Russia, but it appears that is not to be the case.

After the 2011 NHL Entry Draft Lightning Head Scout Al Murray said Nesterov was "hoping to be in Tri-City from the get-go this campaign."
