Season totals: 5 GP, 0-2-2, -3, 6 PIM
Blujus snapped a three-game scoreless streak with his second assist of the young season, helping Brampton to a 4-1 home win over Kingston. Battalion captain Barclay Goodrow (undrafted) had two goals to win first star. Goodrow’s second goal of the game was set up on the power play by Blujus. The loss by Kingston was their first of the season after three wins.
Guelph Storm 5 @ Windsor Spitfires 0

Season totals: 5 GP, 1-6-7, +3, 8 PIM
Richard (pictured) had a season-high three assists and was named third star as Guelph won their first game of three this weekend, 5-0 in Windsor. Richard’s career high for points in a game is four, set twice last year – both against Sault Ste Marie. One of those games was a four-assist game.

The Petes have been outscored 14-3 in their last three games, all losses. On Thursday, Sudbury’s Joshua Leivo (Leafs) had two goals to lead his Wolves to a 4-1 win in Peterborough. The Petes are tied with Mississauga for the fewest average goals scored per game. Both teams have nine goals in five games.

Sherbrooke Phoenix 0 @ Blainville-Boisbriand Armada 6
C Cedric Paquette, BLB: 1-1-2, +1, 4 PIM (checking-from-behind, unsportsmanlike conduct), 6 SOG, 2 Hits
Season totals: 4 GP, 2-2-4, +2, 6 PIM
Paquette registered both his points in the first period, helping the Armada to a 3-0 lead by the first intermission. The team cruised to a 6-0 win. Paquette led the Armada in shots and hits in the game.

Patrik Machac (undrafted) scored in the first period and Brampton goalie Matej Machovsky (undrafted) made it stand up with 21 saves to lead Brampton to a 1-0 home win over Belleville. Lightning prospect Dylan Blujus was scoreless for the second straight game.

Tanner Richard set up Guelph’s second first period goal to give the Storm a 2-1 lead, but the home side allowed two goals in less than a minute in the third period and lost, 3-2. Richard was on the ice for the game-winning goal against. Jake Dotchin was scoreless for Owen Sound.
Peterborough Petes 1 @ Oshawa Generals 5

The Petes got crushed on the road, 5-1 by the Gens. Former Lightning prospect Geoffrey Schemitsch had a goal and an assist for Oshawa. It was his first goal of the year; he had two last season. Flyers first rounder (2012) Scott Laughton was first star with a goal and a helper. Koekkoek had his second assist of the season in the loss.

Brampton Battalion 1 @ Sudbury Wolves 4
D Dylan Blujus, BRAM: 0-0-0, -1, 0 PIM
Season totals: 2 GP, 0-1-1, -1, 0 PIM
This was a 2-0 game until two minutes left in the third period when Sudbury scored into an empty net while shorthanded. That gave Blujus his minus-1 for the night. The Battalion ended up scoring about 20 seconds later on the power play, then gave up another empty netter. Nathan Pancel, who finished fourth in OHL rookie scoring last year but went undrafted in June, had two goals for Sudbury.
London Knights 8 @ Guelph Storm 2
C/W Tanner Richard, GUE: 0-0-0, -1, 4 PIM (hooking, roughing)
Season totals: 2 GP, 0-1-1, -1, 4 PIM
The London machine came into Guelph and put up an early autumn snowman. Former Lightning camper and 2012 Boston draft pick Seth Griffith (pictured) had two goals to give him five in the first two games of the season. Lightning prospect Tanner Richard roughed it up with Griffith in the second period and both were sent to the box for two minutes. Leafs pick Ryan Rupert had four helpers for the Knights.
Lightning junior prospects are off until Thursday.

Blainville-Boisbriand Armada 5 @ Rouyn-Noranda Huskies 3
C Cedric Paquette, BLB: 1-1-2, +2, 0 PIM, 5 SOG, 2 Hits
A 31-goal scorer last year, Paquette had a goal and an assist in the third period to help the Armada to a 5-3 road win. The Armada was down 2-1 entering the third period. Paquette’s goal turned out to be the game winner. An alternate captain for the team, Paquette was 17 of 28 on faceoffs and centered the Armada’s top line.
Victoriaville Tigres 3 @ Val-d’Or Foreurs 4 (SO)
D Artem Sergeev, VDO: 1-1-2, E, 0 PIM, 2 SOG, 2 Hits
Sergeev’s first goal of the year came on the power play and gave Val-d’Or a brief 3-1 lead. He did not participate in the shootout, won by the Foreurs 1-0. Look for a breakout year from Sergeev (pictured) this season.
Note: Nikita Kucherov (Quebec) remains out with a shoulder injury.

Niagara IceDogs 2 @ Brampton Battalion 1 (SO)
D Dylan Blujus, BRAM: 0-1-1, E, 0 PIM
Blujus earned his first point of the season when he had an assist on Brampton’s only goal, scored on a 5-on-3 power play. He had spent the first half of the double man advantage as the triggerman for the Battalion. Blujus did not participate in the shootout. Listening to the radio broadcast, Blujus seemed to never leave the ice.
Saginaw Spirit 3 @ Guelph Storm 4 (OT)
C/W Tanner Richard, GUE: 0-1-1, E, 0 PIM
Richard had an assist on Andrey Pedan’s (Islanders) power play goal in overtime as Guelph came back from a 3-1 deficit to win their season opener. Leafs second rounder and Guelph captain Matt Finn had three assists for the Storm.
