Oshawa Generals 1 @ Barrie Colts 5

D Geoffrey Schemitsch, OSH: Did not play (injured)

Despite the choking, Victoriaville’s Phillip Danault, a first round pick of the Blackhawks last summer, was named first star for scoring two goals. The Tigres are in fourth in the QMJHL.

Wilcox nearly stole this game for underdog Tri-City by stopping 33 of 35 shots. He was given the third star award on the road, which is rare in a loss. Fargo scored what turned out to be the game-winning goal late in the first period. They added an empty net marker late.

Yanni Gourde (undrafted) scored his 30th goal of the season late in the third period to break a 2-2 tie and lift Victoriaville to a home win. The Tigres are currently the league’s fourth seed, but have the third most points due to division leaders being seeded 1-3.

Gatineau Olympiques 4 @ Blainville-Boisbriand Armada 5

Season Totals: 40 GP, 5-22-27, -9, 43 PIM

Gatineau captain Adam Janosik was a goal shy of a Gordie Howe hat trick after having an assist (shorthanded) and a fight. Janosik has elevated his game since being named captain. He dropped the gloves 23 seconds into the game to help send a message to the Armada. He certainly did as he pummeled Anderson in a clear fight win for Janosik. (see video below)

Victoriaville Tigres 6 @ Baie-Comeau Drakkar 1

D Daniel Milan, VIC: 0-0-0, E, 0 PIM, 0 SOG, 0 Hits

OHL

Niagara IceDogs 3 @ London Knights 2

C Vladislav Namestnikov, LDN: 0-0-0, E, 0 PIM
Season Totals: 46 GP, 17-38-55, +11, 38 PIM

Namestnikov set a new career high when he failed to score for the 14th straight game. London broke Niagara goalie Mark Visentin’s shutout streak at three games, but the Coyotes pick got the win against the high-powered Knights. Former Lightning draft pick Brock Beukeboom (pictured), who was traded by the Lightning at this time last year to the Blues, played his 30th game of the season on Friday for Niagara. He missed most of last year and this year with a concussion. He had an assist Friday to give him 11 points (2 goals) on the year for Niagara. Hopefully his development is back on track after missing so much time due to injury. The Lightning took him in the third round in 2010.
