Hard not to be proud of the team for battling back tonight.
Mike Smith allowed 4 goals on 27 shots for the loss.

Usually falling into a 3-0 hole is a death sentence, particularly for an east coast team that's a long way from home. So, to get a point under the circumstances was pretty outstanding.
Steve Downie had 2 assists and was +1 with 1 shot and 1 hit in 11:22. Tonight was Steve's 80th NHL game, so he's now 2 away from graduating from prospect status on Bolt Prospects.
Zenon Konopka had 5 penalty minutes, 1 hit, and 1 blocked shot in 7:55.
Paul Szczechura had 1 shot and 2 hits in 12:29.
James Wright had 1 hit in 11:04.
Victor Hedman had an assist and was +1 with 1 hit in 24:22.
The Lightning get a solid road win.
Mike Smith played well allowing 1 goal on 31 shots. He's back in the fight.
TB 5:59, Lecavalier 3 (Malone, Krajicek)
TB 14:44, Tanguay 4 (Malone, Stamkos)(PP)

TB 11:46, Lecavalier 4 (Tanguay)
The Lightning did well to capitalize on some early penalties to stake themselves to a 2-0 lead and they never really looked back. Phoenix had a bit better play at even strength, but the Lightning turned it up when they needed to in order to salt the game away in the third. NHL teams should beware: the Lecavalier line is starting to click.
Steve Downie had 1 hit in 15:19.
Zenon Konopka had 1 hit in 10:49 and was 62% on draws.
Paul Szczechura was +1 with 1 shot and 1 hit in 13:21.
James Wright had 2 hits in 13:55.
Victor Hedman was +1 with 2 hits and 1 blocked shot in 21:10. Light night for the big Swede.
The Lightning finally work in one of their mandatory 3-4 late game goal wave off hosings.
Antero Niittymaki allowed 1 goal on 30 shots and only 1 of 3 shooters to score in the shootout, but still took the loss. I'm thinking the Finnish goaltenders in the organization are feeling discriminated against for lack of goal support tonight.
LA 7:20, Doughty 4 (Kopitar, Smyth)(PP)
TB 11:39, Malone 12 (Hale, Stamkos)
A controversial wave off of an Andrei Meszaros overtime goal ushered the Lightning into the shootout where they re-established their season-long streak of futility after a brief taste of success against Minnesota.
Steve Downie had 2 penalty minutes and 3 hits in 13:49.
Zenon Konopka had 15 penalty minutes, 1 shot, and 1 hit in 6:02.
Paul Szczechura had 1 shot and 1 blocked shot in 13:25.
James Wright had 1 shot in 8:57.
Victor Hedman had 3 shots, 1 hit, and 2 blocked shots in 26:13.
Flip. The. Script.
Antero Niittymaki allowed 3 goals on 34 shots and stopped both shooters he faced in the penalty shot session for the big shootout win.

TB 9:17, Downie 2 (Halpern, Ohlund)
TB 19:45, Malone 11 (Stamkos, St. Louis)(PP)
TB- Lecavalier, Stamkos
After frittering away 3-4 points already this season by allowing opponents to tie a game late and then losing in the shootout, the Lightning flipped the script to steal 2 points from Minnesota and stay unbeaten in regulation at home.
Steve Downie had a big goal to key the comeback and was +1 with 2 penalty minutes, 1 shot, and 1 hit in 11:49. He's 5 games from graduation from prospect status here on Bolt Prospects.
Zenon Konopka had 2 penalty minutes, 1 shot, and 1 hit in 7:17. And, thankfully, he chose not to commit suicide by fighting Boogard.
Paul Szczechura had 1 shot and was 75% on draws in 11:54. He brought some jump back to the lineup.
James Wright was -1 with 1 shot in 12:41.
Victor Hedman had 1 shot in 24:02 in his first game back from the concussion. He was wildly out of position on Minnesota's first goal, but was decent otherwise.
