Florida fell behind 1-0 early in the first period before rattling off four consecutive goals over the next nearly 40:00 of action, then outscored their hosts 4-2 in what time remained. The win helped the Everblades cushion their hold on second-place in the South Division and their current fifth-seed spot in the Eastern Conference playoff standings. Florida now has a three-point lead with only a game in hand on South Carolina, so the combination of an Everblades win and a Road Warriors loss will ensure Florida doesn't lose any ground. Jesse Deckert, who stopped 22 of 25 shots in the match, bumped his record to 6-1-1. Not bad for a guy signed to a try-out contract. Dan Milan, who was out of the lineup the past few games, returned to action. Alex Hutchings and Pat Nagle remain with AHL Syracuse. Florida (36-22-11, 83 PTS), with just three games remaining in the regular season, will stick around to hit the Amway Center ice against Orlando (27-34-7, 61 PTS) again Wednesday night.

The Everblades hold a one-point lead over Greenville and South Carolina with games in hand on both. After getting shelled the night before, Jesse Deckert returned to previous form, earning his fifth win in seven appearances by stopping 23 of 24 Cyclones shots. Charles Landry, who had the primary helper Florida's first goal, was again the Lightning's lone prospect in the lineup with Dan Milan inactive and both Alex Hutchings and Pat Nagle up with AHL Syracuse. Florida (35-22-11, 81 PTS) will now close out its regular season with four-game, home-and-home series Orlando (27-33-7, 61 PTS) beginning Tuesday in Orlando.

Florida, which narrowly outshot South Carolina 25-22 for the match, scored just a minute into overtime to take sole possession of 2nd-place in the South Division. The Everblades continue to trail division-leading Gwinnett, which won its fourth-straight game Sunday, by four points and now have a tenuous one-point lead over both South Carolina and Greenville. Alex Hutchings had a big night, registering his first points since returned from Syracuse. Hutchings, who opened the game's scoring late in the first period, struck after he planted himself outside the paint and put his stick on a centering feed from Mathieu Roy. He also had the secondary assist on Mike Ratchuk's game-winner in overtime. Pat Nagle sat in favor of Jesse Deckert, who stopped 19 of 22 shots to boost his record to 4-0-1 withe the Everblades. Florida (34-21-11, 79 PTS) next plays host to Cincinnati (40-18-8, 88 PTS), which has already clinched the North Division, on Friday.

Florida rallied from a two-goal deficit in the second period before allowing South Carolina its second power play tally of the game midway through the final frame and to tack on an empty netter. With the win, the Stingrays moved into a tie with the Everblades for 2nd-place in the South Division though Florida holds two games in hand. Both teams now trail division-leading Gwinnett by four points with the regular season rapidly approaching its conclusion. Charles Landry, who has spent chunks of the past couple months with Syracuse, notched his first goal for Florida since January 20th after having gone eight games without finding the net. Pat Nagle, after turning in a brilliant performance on Wednesday, took the loss for the Everblades. Florida (33-21-11, 77 PTS) and South Carolina(35-25-7, 77 PTS) will square off again late Sunday afternoon in yet another crucial match for both clubs.
