Florida was able to trim a 2-0 deficit late in the second period but Cincinnati responded with another strike before the second intermission and two more goals in the first half of the final frame to put the game out of reach for the hosts. The Everblades outshout the Cyclones 36-28 for the match with the bulk (20) of those chances generated in the second period. With the loss, Florida dropped to fourth-place in the South Division, though it holds three games in hand on Gwinnett and two on both South Carolina and Greenville. Charles Landry was the Lightning's lone prospect in the lineup with Dan Milan a scratch and both Alex Hutchings and Pat Nagle previously recalled to AHL Syracuse. Florida (34-22-11, 79 PTS) and Cincinnati (41-18-8, 90 PTS) take the ice again Saturday night.

Florida, which narrowly outshot South Carolina 25-22 for the match, scored just a minute into overtime to take sole possession of 2nd-place in the South Division. The Everblades continue to trail division-leading Gwinnett, which won its fourth-straight game Sunday, by four points and now have a tenuous one-point lead over both South Carolina and Greenville. Alex Hutchings had a big night, registering his first points since returned from Syracuse. Hutchings, who opened the game's scoring late in the first period, struck after he planted himself outside the paint and put his stick on a centering feed from Mathieu Roy. He also had the secondary assist on Mike Ratchuk's game-winner in overtime. Pat Nagle sat in favor of Jesse Deckert, who stopped 19 of 22 shots to boost his record to 4-0-1 withe the Everblades. Florida (34-21-11, 79 PTS) next plays host to Cincinnati (40-18-8, 88 PTS), which has already clinched the North Division, on Friday.

Florida rallied from a two-goal deficit in the second period before allowing South Carolina its second power play tally of the game midway through the final frame and to tack on an empty netter. With the win, the Stingrays moved into a tie with the Everblades for 2nd-place in the South Division though Florida holds two games in hand. Both teams now trail division-leading Gwinnett by four points with the regular season rapidly approaching its conclusion. Charles Landry, who has spent chunks of the past couple months with Syracuse, notched his first goal for Florida since January 20th after having gone eight games without finding the net. Pat Nagle, after turning in a brilliant performance on Wednesday, took the loss for the Everblades. Florida (33-21-11, 77 PTS) and South Carolina(35-25-7, 77 PTS) will square off again late Sunday afternoon in yet another crucial match for both clubs.

Florida gave up a first period lead within a couple minutes of earning it but eventually took advantage of a late even-strength tally to down divisional rival South Carolina. The win put Florida into a first-place tie with Gwinnett for the South Division lead. The Everblades, who ratcheted up the offense a notch in hitting 40 shots on goal against the Stingrays, also hold a game in hand on the Gladiators. Danick Gauthier notched his third assist, a primary dish on the power play approaching the midpoint of the first, of the season. It was Gauthier's third-straight game with a point and the fourth time in five games he registered at least a goal or an assist. Though he wasn't credited as being one of the stars of the game, Pat Nagle, back in net for Florida after being assigned from AHL Syracuse following the return of Cedrick Desjardins to the Crunch, turned in a stellar performance with 29 stops on 30 shots against. Alex Hutchings also was back in the lineup for the Everblades after being returned by AHL Syracuse. Florida (33-20-11, 77 PTS) continues its five-game home stand Friday night when it squares of against South Carolina(34-25-7, 75 PTS) in the second of three consecutive matches the two teams will play against each other.

Florida fell behind 1-0 midway through the second period before evening the score with just over seven minutes remaining to force the extra session but Kalamazoo claimed the extra point by prevailing in the shootout. It was a tough-luck loss for netminder Jesse Deckert, who, making his fourth start for Florida, has put up some pretty decent numbers (2.45 GAA, .925 SV%, averaging 30 saves per game) after signing a try-out contract. Danick Gauthier had the primary dish on the lone Everblades goal, an even-strength tally defenseman Mike Ratchuk. Gauthier has now registered at least a point in three of the four games he has played since being assigned from AHL Syracuse and is also averaging 3.5 shots per game. Florida (32-20-11, 75 PTS) starts a five-game home stand with a crucial match, the first of three consecutive, against South Carolina (34-24-7, 75 PTS), which is tied with the Everblades in the South Division standings, Wednesday night.
