AHL Game Day: 3-14-15 Crunch at Devils

Almost a shutout.

SYR-2
ALB-1

Allen York allowed 1 goal on 34 shots for the very near shutout. The only shot that got him was a long seeing eye point shot through two layers of traffic from the point with 4 seconds left in the game. Oof.

First Period
NO SCORING

Second Period
SYR Marchessault, (17) (Martindale, Vermin), 15:55 (PP)

Third Period
SYR Ashton, (7) (Marchessault), 19:42 (EN)
ALB Hrabarenka, (5) (Wohlberg, Thomson), 19:56

Allen York and Jonathan Marchessault were the game's first and second stars.

Syracuse was outshot by about a 3:2 margin in the contest, but they rode York's performance and Marchessault's scoring to the finish line. Ultimately, that may be the style the Crunch have to adopt if Namestnikov stays in Tampa Bay. They'll have to play closer to the vest because they won't have the same level of game breaking skill, and Marchessault will be counted on heavily because he's the one member of the Crunch that still has that game breaking ability.
