Vasily Koshechkin sat backup against his old club as Magnitogorsk toppled Cherepovets 4-2. Metallurg got 2 goals from scoring machine Danis Zaripov in the win. The goals were Zaripov's 13th and 14th on the season, placing him 4 clear of Barys Astana's Brandon Bochenski for tops in the KHL.

KHL Game Day: 10-19-13

Nikita Gusev. Khanty Mansisysk, 0-0-0. -1, 0 PIM, 0 SOG
Season totals: 15 GP, 2-2-4, -4, 2 PIM

Nikita Gusev played just 1:54, 2 shifts, in Yugra's 4-2 loss to Khabarovsk. It's becoming clear Gusev is on the outs with his club after playing very sparingly over the past few games. Ex-NHLer Timofei Shishkanov led the way for Khabarovsk with a pair of goals.

KHL Game Day: 10-18-13

Magnitogorsk 1 vs. St. Petersburg 4

KHL Game Day: 10-17-13

Vladivostok 2 vs. Khanty-Mansiysk 3
Nikita Gusev, Khanty-Mansiysk, 0-0-0, E, 0 PIM, 1 SOG
Season totals: 14 GP, 2-2-4, -3, 2 PIM

Nikita Gusev got a near non-existant 1:44 of ice time in Yugra's 3-2 win over expansion Vladivostok. Ex-Predators draft pick Jonas Andersson had 2 goals to lead the way for Yugra.

Bratislava 3 vs. Dinamo Riga 4
Jaroslav Janus, Bratislava, Loss, 20/24, 4.04 GAA, .833 sv%
Season totals: 9 GP, 4-5-0, 0 SO, 3.22 GAA, .874 sv%

I know somebody who wishes his KHL team had let him out of his contract to go back to North America. Hard times continue for Bratislava and Jaroslav Janus as they fell 4-3 to Dinamo Riga. Ex-Norfolk Admiral and Lightning property Kyle Wilson had 1 goal and 3 assists in the win for Riga, while ex-Lightning forward Paul Szczechura assisted on the Third Period game winner. In other words, you might call it, "When Ex-Teammates Attack".

KHL Game Day: 10-16-13

Magnitogorsk 4 vs. Mytischi 3
Vasily Koshechkin, Magnitogorsk, Win, 23/26, 3.01 GAA, .885 sv%

Magnitogorsk got 1 goal and 3 points from star forward Danis Zaripov in their 4-3 win over Mytischi. For Mytischi, former Lightning forward Evgeny Artyukhin led the way... to the box... with 16 penalty minutes including a Third Period booking that translates (gloriously) to "Checking to the Head and Neck Area". Good old R2.

Andrey Vasilevskiy, Ufa, Win, 20/21, 1.00 GAA, .952 sv%
Season totals: 8 GP, 5-2-1, 0 SO, 2.10 GAA, .926 sv%
