After missing a game with an undisclosed injury, MacLeod (Daily Free Press photo) scored his first collegiate goal and point as the Terriers topped the Friars, 4-1. Jack Eichel had a goal and an assist for BU, who jumped up from No. 12 to No. 6 this past week.

SCSU gave No. 1 Minnesota more than they could handle, frustrating the Gophers and taking a 4-0 lead before Goldy got on the scoreboard. Wilcox took a high sticking penalty in the third period. One member of the Gophers media tweeted that it was the most upset he’s seen Wilcox in a game. It was Minnesota’s first loss of the season. The two teams square off again on Saturday in Mariuccia Arena.

BU swept the state of Michigan in the Big 10/Hockey East Challenge, defeating the Spartans on Friday and Wolverines on Saturday. MacLeod played in the Friday game, but was scratched Saturday due to an “undisclosed injury.” Jack Eichel (2015) had a goal for BU.

The Friars scored an extra-attacker goal at 19:21 to force overtime with No. 3 UND, but the game ended in an old fashioned tie.

Minnesota needed a third period goal to snap a tie and defeat the visiting Beavers. Wilcox improved to 4-0 on the season.

UND had a 4-0 lead entering the third period and coasted to a 6-1 win in a key top-5 matchup.

Wilcox and the Gophers improved to 3-0-0 on the season, defeating the Beavers at home, 5-2. Wilcox made a lunging, desperation stick-save that quickly made the rounds on social media.

Quinnipiac (1-2-1) continues to struggle to start the year, this time dropping a 4-1 decision to their in-state rivals. On the plus side, Matt Peca has had at least a point in every game so far this year. The Bobcats outshot the Huskies, 37-19, but were stymied by Dallas-born Rob Nichols (undrafted), who also contributed an assist for UConn. The game was played in Bridgeport.

It was a frustrating loss for Sarnia, who fell to 1-2 on their road trip. Despite outshooting the Bulls 52-33, Belleville scored the game-winner with 29 seconds remaining in regulation. DeAngelo, who was suspended earlier this year for arguing with an official at the end of a game, was given a major penalty for slashing and a game misconduct at the 20-minute mark of the third period. There was nothing about the incident in the Sarnia or Belleville newspaper game stories.
