G Michael Zador, OSH: OT loss, 26 saves on 29 shots, *Third Star*
Season Totals: 6-2-1-1, 3.45 GAA, .884 sv%, 1 SO

Zador (pictured) played well enough to earn a Third Star award on the road, but allowed a third period goal to the Petes and the overtime winner to 2011 draft hopeful Matt Puempel.

Season Totals: 15 GP, 2-3-5, +2, 10 PIM

Janosik’s second goal of the year turned out to be the insurance goal as Gatineau cruised to a 6-2 win over Halifax despite only outshooting them 23-20.

OHL

Ottawa 67’s 2 @ Belleville Bulls 4

Season totals: 14 GP, 11-9-20, +4, 21 PIM

Belleville climbed out of last place with a big home win over East Division-leading Ottawa. The Bulls won only their third game of the year. Panik is sixth in the league in points, but just four points behind the leader, Owen Sound’s Garrett Wilson (Panthers, 4th, 2009).

Connolly ran his point streak to 14 games and still sits in fourth in the league scoring race with 22 points in 14 games. Vancouver’s Craig Cunningham (Bruins, 4th/2010)leads with 34 points in 16 games.

A huge night for O’Donnell, who was named the game’s First Star. Victoria had a 2-0 lead in this game before O’Donnell scored his first. His second goal was the eventual game winner.

Regina won their third in a row with an upset win over first-place Saskatoon. Ashton, who scored on the power play, now has 5 points in his last 2 games and 6 in his last 3. He was given credit for a goal in his last game after the play was reviewed late. Perhaps his season is indeed starting to take off.

Landry (pictured) made a triumphant return from injury against his former team with a multipoint game and a plus-2 rating.

Beukeboom, the Soo captain, leads the team in penalty minutes and is tied for last in points and plus/minus rating.

Season Totals: 6-2-0-1, 3.52 GAA, .883 sv%

Zador stopped the first four shooters in the shootout before giving up the eventual game winner. His numbers aren’t great, but he’s been the Gens’ undisputed No.1 so far.

Panik had two checking-from-behind penalties two minutes apart in the first period. The second led to a Saginaw power play goal. At 3-10, Belleville is just one point ahead of Barrie in the league’s basement.

Schemitsch had the primary assist on the game’s opening goal. Avalanche first rounder Joey Hishon had two goals and three assists in the game for the Attack. The controversial first rounder has 13 points in 4 games.
