DeCoste’s point streak is now at five games. He shot first in the shootout for Belleville, but his attempt was stopped.

Hutchings saw his goal-scoring streak end at seven games, but his point streak extend to nine games. His goal streak stands as the longest in the OHL this season. His point streak is the longest current streak in the league, with 16 games being the highest this year (Ryan Martindale, OTT). Barrie needed overtime to extend their win streak to 18 games.

Lethbridge Sends Ashton to Pats

(Regina Pats release) Regina Pats General Manager is proud to announce the acquisition of forwards Carter Ashton, Craig Orfino and a 3rd round pick in the 2010 WHL Bantam Draft from the Lethbridge Hurricanes. In exchange, the Pats send 17 year old forward Graham Hood, 15 year old prospect Taylor Balog, a 2nd round pick in the 2010 WHL Bantam Draft, as well as their 1st round pick in 2011.

Eighteen year old Carter Ashton is native of Saskatoon and was a 1st round pick of the Tampa Bay Lightning in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. This season he has 13 goals and 13 assists in 28 games with the Hurricanes.

Shane Owen, who was waived by Erie of the OHL when Lightning prospect Jaroslav Janus returned to the Otters, improved to 5-1 for Moncton with a 30 save shutout and a First Star award against the Rocket.

Lethbridge scored three third period goals, but it wasn’t enough to complete the comeback. Ashton is second on the Hurricanes in goals and points. He leads in power play goals with seven – four more than anyone else on the team. He’s tied for the lead in shorthanded goals with one.

Hutchings Named Boston Pizza OHL Player of the Week

(OHL release) The Ontario Hockey League today announced that forward Alex Hutchings of the Barrie Colts is the Boston Pizza OHL Player of the Week for the week ending December 6. Hutchings recorded eight points in three games scoring four shorthanded goals and four assists with a league-best plus-minus rating of plus-6.
