Darcy was dangerous throughout the third period in a close game, creating several chances and manufacturing shots, but he couldn’t find the twine and the Eagles couldn’t find a way to win.

Sarnia broke their four-game losing streak with a huge win in Barrie. The Sting had seven goals by the end of the second period and coasted through the third. DeAngelo (Sarnia Observer photo) saw a significant amount of ice time in all game situations, including the entirety of a second period penalty kill when Barrie had just pulled to 4-1.

Adam Erne’s hat trick streak ended at two games, but he set up the game’s opening goal and was plus-2 on the evening to move up to sixth in the league in that category. He has at least a point in four straight games. Erne will be a force all year long in the Q.

The Petes and Soo were tied 2-2 heading into the third period before Sheldon Keefe’s Greyhounds pulled ahead for good and added an empty net goal. Keefe, a former Bolt prospect and Lightning player, is regarded as one of the bright, young head coaches outside the NHL. It won’t be long before he’s in the big leagues, possibly with the Leafs.
