Syracuse came out well enough and staked themselves to a 2-0 lead, but the wheels eventually came off, especially in the Third Period when they were outshot 18-5. The good news for the Crunch is that they were fortified for the game by Dana Tyrell, Matt Taormina, and freshly signed veteran Jon DiSalvatore. With a few more practices, expect them all to settle in and figure out their roles and the Crunch to put together some better games.

Syracuse faces Wilkes-Barre/Scranton tomorrow night. As of this posting, the Crunch trail Norfolk by 3 points for the 8th spot in the Eastern Conference. Norfolk trails Adirondack 5-4 late in the Third Period. Whatever the outcome of that contest, Syracuse will hold 2 games in hand on the Admirals at the end of the night.
