Sarnia Sting 5 vs Kitchener Rangers 6 (SO)

C/W Alexey Lipanov, KIT: 0-0-0, -3, 0 PIM, 3 SOG, 7/13 FO
Season Totals: 13 GP, 2-3-5, -12, 8 PIM
17-18 Totals (BAR, SBY): 55 GP, 14-25-39, -14, 10 PIM

The Rangers came back from 2-1 and 4-2 deficits to tie and later defeat Sarnia in a shootout. Lipanov was scoreless and minus-3 in the game. That was his eighth minus game of 13 total games played. He has two plus games. While plus/minus isn’t a fantastic stat to pin on a player, analysts can look at his plus/minus numbers compared to the team as a whole as well as how many minus games vs plus games he has. In this case, Lipanov’s minus-12 is the team worst, with the next “highest” being a minus-5. That doesn’t look good for Lipanov.
