Ontario Hockey League

Kitchener Rangers 2 @ Sudbury Wolves 5

C/W Alexey Lipanov, KIT: 0-1-1, -2, 0 PIM, 2 SOG, 3/14 FO
Season Totals: 27 GP, 7-7-14, -20, 8 PIM

Lipanov had the primary assist on Jonathan Yantsis’ go-ahead goal in the second period, but that 2-1 lead was short-lived as Lipanov’s former team scored the game’s next four goals. Lipanov played 20 games for Sudbury last season after coming over in a trade from Barrie. He had nine points in those 20 games. Quinton Byfield (2020), the No. 1 overall pick in the OHL this year, had two goals Friday for the Wolves. The 6-5, 214-pound center has 14 goals and 29 points in 27 games this season. He is expected to go early in the 2020 NHL draft.
