Moncton won their third of the series on the road to finish off the Volts 4-1 and advance to the QMJHL Finals. The Wildcats will face the winner of St. John and Victoriaville, currently 3-1 St. John. Barberio finished the Drummondville series with two goals and three points in the five games. He continues to lead all league defensemen in playoff scoring with 15 points. Despite the Moncton win in Game 5, hometown Drummondville swept the three star awards for the game.

Drew Owsley (undrafted) stopped 40 shots for First Star honors as the Americans are now one win away from disposing of Wright and the Giants and advancing to the WHL Finals to face Calgary. Game 6 is Sunday in Vancouver.

Elsewhere in the CHL, Windsor defeated Kitchener 6-4 in Kitchener to force a Game 7. Windsor had been down 3-0 in the series. Game 7 is Sunday in Windsor.
