The Giants improved to 5-0 in the playoffs and drew first blood against Portland with a field-goal-heavy 9-6 win in Oregon. This game turned ugly in the late third as there was somewhat of a line brawl with about four minutes remaining, and more festivities as the final horn sounded. Wright’s first goal of the playoffs turned out to be the game winner as he gave the Giants a 7-5 lead midway through the third period. 5-foot-9 Brendan Gallagher (2011 draft) had four goals for Vancouver. Possible Lightning 2010 first round draft target Nino Niederreiter was scoreless and minus-1 in the game with four penalty minutes.
