Florida, which scored early and often Friday night, potted four unanswered goals spanning from a few seconds remaining in the middle frame to just a few minutes left in regulation to pull away from and close out a home victory against division-rival Orlando. With Pat Nagle recalled to AHL Syracuse, John Muse was sharp in net for the Everblades, stopping thirty-four of thirty-six shots, in completing his eighth-straight start. Alex Hutchings, after going scoreless in the previous four games since returning from an extended absence, exploded for a three point night with a goal scored midway through the final period on his only shot on net and a couple helpers. Dan Milan and Maxime Langelier-Parent, still recovering from an injury sustained early in the season, were inactive. Florida (14-10-5, 33 PTS) and Orlando (11-15-4, 26 PTS) will play their third game in four days on Saturday night.

Alaska Aces 5 vs. Stockton Thunder 1

F Nate Thompson, AK: Did not play
Season totals: 24 GP, 7-14-21, +4, 23 PIM

After having to resort to a narrow shootout victory in the match between both clubs the other day, Alaska built up a 3-0 lead by the end of the second period and tacking on a couple more in the final frame to lay a solid thumping on Stockton. Former Lightning netminder Gerald Coleman was in net again for the Aces and stopped all but one of twenty-seven shots to secure his eighth win of the season. Scott Gomez, who added a goal and an assist, returned to the lineup but the Aces were still missing the services of NHLers Nate Thompson, who missed his fourth-straight game and Brandon Dubinsky, who is still recovering from injury. Alaska (22-8-0, 44 PTS) and Stockton (15-8-5, 33 PTS) finish their three-game pre-Christmas set with a match on Saturday night.
