Adam Erne’s hat trick streak ended at two games, but he set up the game’s opening goal and was plus-2 on the evening to move up to sixth in the league in that category. He has at least a point in four straight games. Erne will be a force all year long in the Q.

Sarnia dropped their fourth game in a row, 6-1 at home to Ottawa. The 67’s scored four times in the third period to break open a 2-0 game. Sarnia avoided the shutout with a goal in the final seconds.

The Spits got an overtime goal from Slater Doggett (undrafted) to defeat the visiting Steelheads, 5-4, in Windsor.

The Petes and Soo were tied 2-2 heading into the third period before Sheldon Keefe’s Greyhounds pulled ahead for good and added an empty net goal. Keefe, a former Bolt prospect and Lightning player, is regarded as one of the bright, young head coaches outside the NHL. It won’t be long before he’s in the big leagues, possibly with the Leafs.

The Warriors failed to score more than one goal for the second-straight night on the road. Point had an assist on Friday, nothing on Saturday. Avs first rounder Conner Bleakley had a goal and two assists for the Rebels.

Thomas (pictured) had a multi-point game, but the Hitmen fell in Medicine Hat, 7-5. Jake Virtanen, Vancouver’s sixth-overall pick last summer, had two goals and an assist for Calgary.
