Lest you might have forgotten over the offseason, big 6'6" goaltender Vasily Koshechkin is still one of the best in all of Russia. The netminder stopped 39 pucks today to lead Severstal to a 6-2 thumping of Novgorod. Cherepovets faces Omsk on Thursday.
