N.A. Juniors Game Night 10/10: Going Streaking
Results from all five junior leagues posted ... Barberio, Courtnall and Ward extend point streaks ... Something's not Wright in Vancouver
BCHL
Alberni Valley Bulldogs 1 @ Victoria Grizzlies 3
W Justin Courtnall, VIC: 0-1-1, 0 PIM
Courtnall continues at a point-per-game pace (12 in 12). He has scored at least a point in six straight games.
USHL
Fargo Force 1 @ Indiana Ice 3
D Luke Witkowski, FAR: Did not play
Witkowski, a 2008 sixth round pick of Tampa Bay, remains sidelined with a shoulder injury. He was recently named Fargo’s first captain in franchise history. He is a Western Michigan commit.
QMJHL
Victoriaville Tigres 4 @ Moncton Wildcats 3 (OT)
D Mark Barberio, MON: 0-1-1, E, 0 PIM, 2 SOG
Barberio extended his points streak to six games, tied for the third longest active streak in the QMJHL. After starting the year 7-0, Moncton has lost their last two in overtime.
Drummondville Voltigeurs 3 @ Lewiston MAINEiacs 4 (SO)
D Michael Ward, LEW: 0-1-1, +2, 0 PIM, 1 SOG
Ward now has points in three consecutive games.
OHL
Brampton Battalion 1 @ Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds 7
W Kyle DeCoste, BRA: 0-0-0, -1, 0 PIM
After a three game point streak, DeCoste has now gone three games in a row without hitting the scoresheet.
WHL
Calgary Hitmen 3 @ Lethbridge Hurricanes 1
C Mitch Fadden, LET: Did not play
Fadden was just returned to Lethbridge from AHL Norfolk, but did not suit up for the Hurricanes.
Spokane Chiefs 6 @ Portland Winter Hawks 2
G Dustin Tokarski, SPO: Win, 23 saves on 25 shots
Tokarski improved his record on the year to 5-1-0-1.
Prince George Cougars 1 @ Kamloops Blazers 4
C/W Dana Tyrell, PG: 2-1-3, -1, 0 PIM
Tyrell scored PG’s first two goals, then earned the primary assist on the game winner in the second half of the third period. The Cougars captain now has six points in five games to start his final year in the WHL.
Kelowna Rockets 1 @ Vancouver Giants 7
C James Wright, VAN: 0-0-0, E, 0 PIM
Despite the Giants putting up 14 goals in their last two games, Wright has curiously not registered a point in those contests. He is still better than a point-per-game player, however (9 in 8). He is plus-1 in those games, also. Vancouver has scored seven or more goals in four of their eight games. Torrie Jung’s replacement, Kris Lazaruk, allowed four goals on 23 shots in just under 50 minutes of play. Still no word on Jung.
NOTE: There are currently three Lightning prospects with at least six game point streaks: Luca Cunti, Barberio, and Courtnall.
