N.A. Juniors Game Night: 1/27

Cunti's hot streak continues ... Tokarski comes up short again for CHL award.

QMJHL
Chicoutimi Sagueneens 4 @ Rimouski Oceanic 5 (SO)
W/C Luca Cunti, RIM: 0-2-2, +1, 0 PIM, 3 SOG
Season totals: 44 GP, 12-23-35, +4, 24 PIM

Cunti now has eight points in his last six games.

OHL
Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds 4 @ Sudbury Wolves 5
W Kyle DeCoste, SSM: 0-0-0, -2, 2 PIM (hooking, 10 min. misconduct)
Season totals: 43 GP, 9-8-17, -19, 57 PIM
With SSM: 7 GP, 1-2-3, -6, 6 PIM

That’s six losses in a row now for the Soo. DeCoste’s misconduct doesn’t count against his PIM totals.

Of Note: Spokane’s Dustin Tokarski was the WHL nominee for the ADT CHL Goaltender of the Week Award for the second straight week, but both times he lost out to goaltenders from the OHL. This week it was won by Brampton’s Thomas McCollum – an OHL trade deadline acquisition from Guelph. McCollum, who won the award three times last year, is a Red Wings first round draft pick and was the subject of the NHL Network’s behind-the-scenes draft day special. Last week the award was won by Plymouth’s Matt Hackett, who is undrafted. Tokarski has not won the award this year (December 4, 2007).
