WHL
Tri-City Americans 5 @ Spokane Chiefs 2
C Mitch Fadden, TC: 2-0-2, E, 0 PIM, *First Star*
Season totals: 56 GP, 35-37-72, +27, 49 PIM

G Dustin Tokarski, SPO: Loss, 24 saves on 29 shots
Season totals: 47 GP, 30-15-0-2, 1.94 GAA, .937 sv%, 7 shutouts

Fadden got the better of Tokarski in a huge match-up for these US Division rivals. The game was out of hand (5-1) by the third period and turned into a Slapshot remake. There were TWENTY major penalties (19 fighting) handed out in the third period. There were also 20 game misconducts. Fadden had zero PIMs, so it looks like they may have sat him for the third period. It’s odd that Tokarski stayed in for the Chiefs. I’ll be looking for the youtube of this one this week.

Fadden’s goal streak is now at eight games. He is within one goal of his career high for goals in a year – 36 – set two seasons ago with Lethbridge in 71 games. He scored 34 last season in 72 games.

Edmonton Oil Kings 5 @ Moose Jaw Warriors 6 (OT)
G Torrie Jung, EDM: OTL, 26 saves on 32 shots
Season totals: 43 GP, 18-17-3-5, 2.67 GAA, .909 sv%, 3 shutouts

Edmonton can’t be leaving a point on the table when playing against the conference’s worst team. They remain two points ahead of Prince Albert for the eighth spot. Both have played 67 games and have 5 remaining. The Warriors and Oil Kings do not play again.

Vancouver Giants 3 @ Everett Silvertips 0
C James Wright, VAN: 0-0-0, E, 0 PIM
Season totals: 63 GP, 19-24-43, +20, 41 PIM

Wright’s four game point streak game to an end in the second Giant victory over Everett this weekend. Jamie Tucker had the shutout for Vancouver.
