On Saturday, Western Ontario stunned Western Michigan University, tying them, 2-2. Miami took them seriously from the get-go, outshooting the Mustangs 16-4 in the first and 49-14 for the game. Mullin (pictured), now a sophomore, had a goal and an assist and his linemate, 2012 Lightning prospect camper Austin Czarnik, had a pair of goals. The third member of that line, Riley Barber (Capitals), had three helpers. Miami opens Friday against Colgate.

Quinnipiac beat Maine on Saturday to start their regular season, then rested players – including Peca – for an exhibition game on Sunday. The Bobcats fell to the Axemen, 2-0.
