Western Michigan (5-0-3) remained unbeaten as Freshman defenseman Garrett Haar scored 28 seconds into overtime. Witkowski was given a 5-minute major for checking from behind midway through the third period. The major resulted in an automatic 10-minute game disqualification. The Broncos will have a tough test next weekend to remain undefeated going on the road for two games with No. 4 Michigan.
Mercyhurst Lakers 5 @ No. 19 Cornell Big Red 4

The Big Red opened their season with a tough loss to Mercyhurst at home. Freshman Nardo Nagtzaam had two goals and an assist for the Lakers including the game winner in the third.
No. 9 Merrimack Warriors 4 @ Vermont Catamounts 2

Season totals: 2 GP, 0-0-0, -3, 2 PIM
Merrimack (6-0-0) remained unbeaten completing the sweep of Vermont. The Catamounts (1-3-0) are at Providence (2-3-1) next weekend for two games.
St. Cloud State Huskies 1 @ No. 12 North Dakota Fighting Sioux 3
F Brendan O'Donnell, UND: Out - Leg injury
Season totals: 4 GP, 0-0-0, -3, 0 PIM
Florida prospect Corban Knight had a goal and an assist for the Sioux as they split the weekend series with the Huskies and snapped a four game winless streak. North Dakota will be at No. 8 Minnesota next weekend.
