The Friars hit the road Thursday night for their last non-conference match, a tilt in Springfield, MA against American International. The nation’s two offensive leaders combined to lead Providence to a 5-0 blitz of the Yellow Jackets. Devils prospects Tyce Thompson (NJD, 2019 4th round pick) scored twice and now leads the nation in goals (17), while Golden Knights prospect Jack Dugan (VGK, 2017 5th round pick) notched 4 assists and extended his Division-I points lead to 41 points on the season. Thompson is 2nd in the nation in the points (33). Bolt prospect and freshmen Max Crozier missed hitting the scoreboard but was +2 on the night and leads all Friars defensemen in plus-minus (+13) and remains 2nd on the team in points (11) from the blueline to Yotes sophomore prospect Michael Callahan (ARI, 2018 5th round pick). Crozier is tops in the Hockey East conference in plus-minus among freshmen defensemen, and 3rd in the conference in assists and points (behind Rangers prospect Zac Jones and the undrafted Declan Carlile).

Providence improves to 12-5-5 (6-4-2 HEAST) and returns home Saturday night to Schneider Arena to resume conference play against UConn.
