Eddie Pasquale was the game's first star. Typical Boston arrogance to award two of three stars to the B's in a 6-3 loss.

I would say this game had all the intensity of a preseason game, but preseason games do have bubble guys fighting for roster spots and a higher incidence rate of fighting. Still, for the Lightning to respond to a little early adversity and pull out the win always feels good, and to tie the record of 62 regular season wins could be quite the resume bullet point. I say "could" because if the Lightning follow through and claim the Stanley Cup this season, they'll have a strong argument to be included in the discussion for greatest single-season team of all time and certainly greatest single-season team of the salary cap era. All that said, it's meaningless without accomplishing the task at hand that begins in the playoffs come Wednesday, and there's A LOT of work yet to be done.

Danick Martel was -1 with 1 shot and 2 hits in 13:20.
