Penticton entered the game two points ahead of Vernon for the Interior Conference lead, but after the night was done the two teams were tied atop the standings. O’Donnell’s power play goal in the second period cut the Vipers’ lead to 2-1, but the Vees couldn’t complete the comeback. O’Donnell was named the game’s Second Star for his efforts.

Mullin set up Colton Hargrove with the eventual game winning goal less than a minute after the Stampede had tied the game in the second period, then scored the insurance goal early in the third to lead the Force to a road win in Sioux Falls. Fargo pulled within three points of Dubuque for the Western Conference lead. Meanwhile, Mullin is within four points of the USHL scoring lead despite playing three fewer games than leader Vinny Saponari (Thrashers) of Dubuque. Saponari was kicked off the Boston University team last year with his brother and tried to transfer to Boston College but his application was denied.
