In addition to scoring the game’s opening goal, Panik scored the game deciding shootout goal to break a 2-2 shootout tie and give the Storm a much-needed win over division rival Kitchener. With the shootout goal, Panik made up for a roughing penalty late in overtime. With the win, Guelph moved up to seventh place in the Western Conference, 11 points ahead of ninth place Sarnia. The Storm is fourth in the Midwest Division, 13 points behind Owen Sound for first and one point ahead of Erie for fifth.

TC got a power play goal in overtime to defeat the Oil Kings 4-3 and take the two points. Ashton had a power play assist in the second period on a goal that gave the Americans a brief 2-0 lead. Edmonton would score the game’s next three goals.
