C Brendan O’Donnell, PEN: 0-0-0, 0 PIM
Season totals: 51 GP, 22-42-64, 22 PIM

A tough home loss for Penticton, who allowed Trail to pull within four points of them in the Interior Conference. The Vees remain in second in the conference, six points behind Vernon.

Omaha Lancers 2 @ Fargo Force 1
C Jimmy Mullin, FGO: 0-1-1, 0 PIM, 4 SOG
Season totals: 32 GP, 15-23-38, +18, 18 PIM

Mullin returned to Fargo’s lineup after missing two games with an undisclosed injury. The Force’s leading scorer managed an assist, but Fargo couldn’t get a win over Omaha.

Gatineau Olympiques 3 @ Shawinigan Cataractes 4 (SO)

Montreal Juniors 1 @ Cape Breton Screaming Eagles Quebec Remparts 0
D Charles Landry, MTL: 0-0-0, E, 2 PIM (tripping), 0 SOG, 0 Hits
Season Totals: 42 GP, 9-26-35, +18, 22 PIM

Trevor Parkes (undrafted) scored midway through the first period and the Juniors made it hold up against Patrick Roy’s Remparts.

Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds 3 @ Erie Otters 5
D Brock Beukeboom, SSM: 0-0-0, E, 0 PIM
Season Totals: 44 GP, 1-7-8, -11, 54 PIM

After spotting the Otters a 4-0 lead, the Greyhounds mounted a furious comeback to make it 4-3, then gave up an empty netter. Beukeboom left the game early with a possible concussion after taking an elbow to the head. The Soo captain missed several games earlier this season with a concussion. A St. Pete Times report states Brock had one before being drafted, too. Brock’s father, former NHLer Jeff Beukeboom, had his career cut short by post concussion syndrome caused by multiple head injuries throughout his NHL career – the worst of which was a sucker punch from the Kings Matt Johnson.

Spokane Chiefs 2 @ Tri-City Americans 5
RW Carter Ashton, TC: 0-2-2, E, 2 PIM (slashing)
With Tri-City: 10 GP, 6-11-17, +5, 22 PIM
With Regina: 29 GP, 16-11-27, -12, 44 PIM
Season Totals: 39 GP, 22-22-44, -7, 66 PIM

Ashton played his 10th game with the Americans and earned his 16th and 17th points with the club. Tri-City is 8-1-1 in those 10 games. With the win, TC leapfrogged Spokane into second in the division, four points behind Portland. The Ams and Winterhawks play Saturday.

Kelowna Rockets 2 @ Prince George Cougars 4
RW Brett Connolly, PG: 0-1-1, +1, 0 PIM
Season totals: 38 GP, 28-18-46, -9, 18 PIM

Connolly has six points in four games since his return from a knee injury.
