Nitra built up a 4-0 lead through the first two periods which held up in the final frame despite a furious three-goal rally by visiting Banska Bystrica. Dana Tyrell, who provided an offensive spark in his first two games with his new Slovakian club, was inactive Sunday. There is no word yet whether he was a healthy scratch or out due to injury. Banska Bystrica (13-14-4-1, 48 PTS) will have a couple days to rest up before hosting Martin (9-16-4-2, 37 PTS) on Wednesday.
