Victoria forces Game 7 with a come-from-behind win in Game 6 in Powell River. The Grizzlies were down 2-1 entering the second period. Courtnall assisted on the game’s last goal – his second point of the series. Game 7 is Tuesday at Victoria’s Bear Mountain Arena. Victoria took 7 games to get rid of Cowichan Valley in their first series.

PEI put up a good fight in each game, but fell short again as Moncton moves on. Barberio had 4 assists in Game 1 and was held off the scoresheet in each of the following games.

Round 2

Moncton will now go head-to-head with the red hot Rimouski Oceanic and Luca Cunti. Michael Ward and Cape Breton will face Patrick Roy’s Quebec Remparts.

The Americans win their opening round matchup with Everett by winning easily at home in Game 5 6-1. TC had built a 6-0 lead in the game before Everett scored. After a scoreless Game 1, Fadden was named a game star in three of the last four games.

Tokarski and the defending champs move on to round two with a 5-3 home win. Seattle’s head coach was ejected in the game after Spokane scored a power play goal to go up 4-2. Tokarski was named a game star in three of the five games.

Round 2

None of the Western Conference series went more than 5 games. No.1 Vancouver (James Wright) will face No.4 Spokane (Tokarski). No.2 Tri-City (Fadden) will meet No.3 Kelowna. Both series will open Friday.
