Tyler Johnson scored a pair of Third Period goals and was 45% on draws in 22:25 of ice time as USA knocked off Finland 3-1. Johnson was named USA's best player in the match. Johnson is currently tied for 9th in tournament scoring. Nashville's Seth Jones had a pair of helpers in the win for the US, as well.

Russia 3 vs. Germany 0
Andrei Vasilevskiy, Russia, Win, SO, 27/27, 0.00 GAA, 1.000 sv%
Tournament totals: 2 GP, 2-0-0, 1 SO, 0.50 GAA, .985 sv%

Andrei Vasilevskiy needed a masterful 27 save performance to help Russia stave off a spirited effort by Germany 3-0. It took 3 third period markers, including an empty netter by Viktor Tikhonov, for Russia to put the Germans away. The victory clinches the top spot in Group B for the Russians, but it may have come at a very high price. Team captain Alexander Ovechkin left the ice after 15:48 of ice time with what some observers deemed to likely be a catastrophic knee injury.
