Denis, the brother of Lightning prospect Dimitry, is an outstanding raw specemin. NHL Central Scouting raves about Kazionov's acceleration and speed as well as his willingness to work hard and go into high traffic areas. He only has fair hands and managed just a single point in 26 games at the Superleague level this year in Russia. Like his brother at the same age, he would do well to come to North America to sharpen his game. Dimitry and Denis' father is a hockey coach in Russia.

Strengths: Good sized frame with outstanding skating ability and burst. Hard worker isn't afraid to go into high traffic areas.
Weaknesses: Has only fair hands. Opportunities for development may be limited on the checking lines in the Superleague playing against grown men.
