Why send Downie? That makes little sense to me. He played hard and stood up for his teammates. I am really surprised by this move.

He also had very good chemistry with Stamkos. We must have gotten a very good return.

I think SY is going for speed, something Downie did not have.

Very mixed feelings. Love Downie, but the return was pretty good.

My fears are that we stockpile picks, get our decent D and Goaltender, and are stuck with an offense that is severely lacking after getting rid of all our Downies/Moores. Sort of like a Bizzaro version of our current team.

This is the offseason where we see what Yzerman is made of, that's for sure.
