Default 2012-2013 Roster

I was thinking about this during the game last night, what does everyone think our roster will look like next season? Of course trades and free agent acquisitions will be made over the course of the off-season but there's a rough outline for a team to be seen now.

Purcell-Stamkos-St. Louis
Malone-V4-Connolly*
Pyatt-Thompson-Tyrell
Labrie-????-????

Hedman-Brewer
Ohlund**-Bergeron
????-????

Garon
????

Other players under contract
Namestnikov(F)
Panik(F)
Johnson(F)
Killorn(F)
Conacher(F)
Gudas(D)
Tokarski(G)
Gauthier(F)
Hutchings(F)
Barberio(D)
Palat(F)
Nagle(G)
Milan(D)
Landry(D)

Player rights(no contract for next year)
Kostka(D)
Jackson(D)
Piche(D)
Picard(F)
Kalinski(F)
Janus(G)
Oberg(D)
Mikkelson(D)
Aulie(D)
Lee(D)
Wyman(F)
Helenius(G)
Kos(G)[KHL contract]

*May start season in AHL
**Career in flux due to knee surgery

There have been times when I thought we were just a player or two away. But now the only thing I am sure about is that Marty, Vinny, Teddy, Victor and Stamkos will be back.

It would be a miracle if Ohlund comes back. After a year he was still on crutches. 35 (36 next season), coming off double knee surgery, last seen two months ago still visibly limping, and as of a month ago still not on skates. He's cooked. My money's on him getting a buyout and a front office/coaching gig.

Ohlund is done, no way he is able to be at even 50% anymore. One guy I hope we keep is MAB, little defensive work and he will be solid. Know that isn't a popular opinion but I really like the guy, and our PP sure misses him.

Yeah... we'll have to agree to disagree on this one...

I wouldn't be opposed to Commodore coming back for $800,000-1million for a year. He'd be a great teacher to the younger guys, a veteran presence, and a great 5/6 dman and a PK specialist.

I would like Commodore in a 6/7 role for the $ you suggest. Unless you know that a guy has coaching/teaching in him, it is a stretch suggesting he will fill that role. Examples that immediately come to mind are NFL icons Brett Favre and Peyton Manning. Favre has said he had no interest in "training his replacement" and Manning never has shown any interest or aptitude for it.

I want to see us sign Purcell to an extension, or deal him off to make room for the Norfolk pipeline.

Plenty of money and assets to improve our defense. Obviously dreaming here but Vokoun and Suter would pretty much solve 90% of our defensive problems.

I didn't necessarily mean as a teacher who is grooming his replacement just someone who has been around the league, won it, and lost it(sent to AHL after being a captain) so he can keep the younger guys humble. And from what I've seen so far(granted, limited exposure) he's shown he's not out of depth playing in the system.
