Going to see the ring of fire in about 15 minutes. We also had our first 100 degree day today.

Wife just picked up her first virus on her HP laptop. Bought this 2 black fridays ago for her.

and now there goes $80 to 120 bucks for...nothing.

Discouraging to deal with these hateful scumbags that do nothing but cause us problems...like we are going to fall for their fake virus protection scam. I guess its the way of the world.

Sound of bomb whistling down to their server some where overseas.

I'm sorry if this offends anyone, but when we find people that do things like this we should lock them up and toss away the key.

Microsoft Security Essentials is free and unobtrusive. Works as well as Norton, Macafee, or any of the others I have used. Comodo offers a free firewall that is a step up from Microsoft embedded firewall.

Most of them are in Eastern Europe or China. Same with spammers. Good luck!

I've used the free Microsoft program also. Seems to work fine with frequent updates. Oh did i mention it is FREE.

I'd also like to punish, to a lesser extent, the people who prey upon less-than-tech savvy consumers (::cough:: Geek Squad ::cough::] who charge exorbitant prices for something as simple as cleaning out the recycling bin or running a virus scan.

It also doesn't nag you constantly like the others. But if you don't trust Microsoft, Avast! is pretty good, too.
