PAGES are used for marketing. Movies, TV shows, politicians, web sites, etc. Basically more tools are people's exposure by having a Facebook Page (not a profile, but a Fan Page) instead of a group. You don't want people chatting on the FB group (or even the page) but you want to send them here instead. You can handle that through Pages. You can send updates and all these other bells and whistles to alert people about whatever.

One of my friends has a few high school graduation pictures up and they're NOT flattering (it was the 80s), so I know how you feel. Can't say I've ever dressed up as Bin Laden though.
